Applications for next year’s Bursary Scheme will open in January 2014.

After nearly 40 applications and a round of auditions in music schools across Palestine five students were chosen to travel to the UK in July 2013 to attend music courses with young British musicians, and for a period of intensive study in London. The Bursary winners this year are: Khoulud Sabbara (18, from Jerusalem), Hadeel Saabat (15, from Jerusalem), Layan Nijim (16, from Ramallah), Faris Amin (15, from Ramallah) and Rady Doulani (14, from Jenin). The four youngest students attended the Pro Corda Chamber Orchestra course in Leiston, Suffolk, before enjoying a residency at the Royal Academy of Music, London, and giving a public showcase concert at Kings Place. Khoulud participated in the London residency and attended a course as part of Aberystwyth MusicFest.
