High on the list of the Choir of London’s charitable objectives is a commitment to increasing musical opportunities for people whose access to music would otherwise be limited. This is reflected in a rich and committed education programme which has been at the core of every trip the Choir has made to the Palestinian territories. Workshops and free concerts have introduced hundreds of schoolchildren to the repertoire being presented in our projects, and strong partnerships with existing music-education organisations in the region ensure that those who already learn an instrument can benefit from meeting, learning from, and working with the professional musicians who form the Choir of London.

The partnerships and friendships formed between Palestinian musicians and their counterparts in the Choir of London were strengthened in 2006 with the launch of the Choir of London Trust’s Bursary Scheme for young Palestinian musicians. You can read more about the Bursary Scheme here.
